It's been awhile!!

So its been awhile since I updated this! Right then what have I been doing? Well for the Bank Holiday I went to Kerry to visit people and I came home no longer single! (Yes I know I haven't told you mum, but I have now!) Had a great laugh in the Brandon Hotel. Have pics up over on Picasa Webs

I have also been on Mid-term from College so have no classes in the last week but back to it tomorrow night!

Halloween was great fun. I went to Rubies as a Knight and came 3rd! Wooooooo! :D

So I went to Goldsoundz the other week and had my picture taken at it and I must say I love the picture! Its really classy!

Chanto's 21st!!

Well what an amazing weekend we had! My amazing boyfriend drove me and Claire down after work on Saturday (with a stop in KFC's). What an amazing night we had! "We had one-steps and two-steps and the divil knows what new steps" as the song goes (its stuck in my head now!)! I have posted some pics up on Facebook but Michelle has updated the purple house blog with a lot better post about then what i could do justice to so have a look and enjoy the photos! There isnt a lot, I was sort of emmm distracted.... :P

EL-DE Haus

I visted EL-DE Haus today, it looks like a normal urban building from the outside no?


but its basement hides a terrible secret. This building was the Gestapo HQ and interrogation centre in Köln from 1933-1945. Today the it houses a permament exhibition to those minorites persecuted by the Nazi's in Köln:
*Sterilised Women
*Jews
*Roma and Cinti
*Phyiscally and Mentally Disabled
*Homosexuals
*Anti-Social Elements

The basement housed 10 cells and you can still read the inscriptions on the walls. There are lots of them, in German, French, Russian and Dutch. They tell stories and are a testament to those who were tortured there.

I always find it hard to be unmoved by exhibitions on Nazi Germany, and there were tears in my eyes on many occasions when the audio guide was telling specific stories of people and families in Cologne. I would recommend a trip here to anyone coming to Cologne.

Karneval: photos

Okay so i finally uplodaed photos from Karneval.

I could write all day about what happened at Karneval but I think the pictures tell the story. I did take videos but I have no software that I can understand to edit it, so will have to wait till Im back in Ireland for them!

Needless to say I WILL be back for Karneval. It was crazy different and exciting. I met people from all over the world (Ukraine to Canada!) and have made good friends.

Anyone who says the Irish are crazy has not been to Köln for Karneval!!!

Well this is probably my last post till after Karneval! I dont forsee me having much of an opportunity to blog between now and next tuesday!

Tomorrow is the start of it all with the boys dressing up for school. The boys have decreed that I too must dress up as I will look odd if i dont! The plans for after school is weather dependent. We might go to an outdoor party if the weather is good, if not I will be wandsering around cologne dressed as a sailor! Woo!

I finally uploaded more photos to my facebook profile. The pictures were all taken on saturday night (i think).

I hope everyone is well and thinking of what to give up for lent! I will be too hungover to notice lent i think! The boys are actually off School till next wedeasnay, so normal service should resume then!

The morning evening after the night before

Well as I am off to sunnier foreign climes on Friday, I held a a going away 'do' last night. What a fab night it was. All my close friends were there and I was hammered. I started work at 6:45am yesterday but finished at 10:00am as it was my last day and had time in lieu saved up. (5 and 1/2 hours!!) but neways I started drinking at 5:30pm so by midnight i was Locked. I do not have funny stories or anything but I would like to thank those who attended and the results of the night are on Facebook. See the links below.

I am going out New Years Eve if people are wondering if they will see me out again!

Also I hope before Friday to do a series of pieces of places I will miss in Cork.
